Now PLAYING on my Turntable

Sandy Denny, "Sandy"
A&M Records (SP 4371)

For my money, she had the greatest voice ever. A beautiful singer. This album contains some great tracks, with the stand-out being "It suits me well". And let's not forget the killer rendition of Dylan's "Tomorrow is a long time".

Oh, and it just so happens that Richard Thompson plays guitar and mandolin on it.

Great stuff.

Here's a YouTube video, if you're curious:

I've got it on vinyl, but you may need to settle for the CD re-issue:
Long live vinyl.

Black Cab Sessions

I recently discovered the Black Cab Sessions website & was (am) blow away! It's a very simple & straightforward concept : a musician (sometimes two, sometimes three / well-know or little known) takes place on the back seat of a black cab (usually in London), the cab starts rolling, and we are treated to one song (or two) by the artist(s). It's loads of fun, really nice to watch AND listen to & highly, highly entertaining!
